The Siemens 3RA2115-0ED15-1AP6 is a SIRIUS non-fused motor starter, built as a direct starter in size S00. It integrates a contactor, a thermal bimetallic overload relay, and a magnetic short-circuit trip into one assembly that snaps onto 60 mm busbar systems — a common panel layout for motor control centers. The supplied contactor is 3RT2015-1AP61, the link module is 3RA1921-1DA00, and the circuit-breaker is 3RV2011-0EA15; the busbar adapter 8US1251-5DS10 is also included, so the unit arrives as a ready-to-mount feeder. The coil accepts 187–242 V at 50 Hz and 192–264 V at 60 Hz, covering the common 208–240 V control supply range.
Mounting position is vertical only, per the datasheet. The unit snaps onto 60 mm busbar systems — the standard spacing in Siemens SIRIUS MCCs and many third-party panel layouts. Dimensions are 200 mm high, 45 mm wide, and 155.1 mm deep. Clearance requirements: 20 mm upward, 10 mm downward, 9 mm at the side, zero forward or backward. That 45 mm width is a single 45 mm module, so it occupies one slot in a typical busbar grid. Wire sizing for main contacts: stranded 0.5–4 mm², or 2×(0.75–2.5 mm²). AWG equivalents are 2×(20–16), with a note that only the contactor side accepts 2×(18–14) and 2×12. The product extension for an auxiliary switch is available, so you can add a feedback contact for PLC status monitoring without modifying the main assembly.
Environmental and Duty Ratings
Operating temperature range is –20 to +60 °C; storage is –50 to +80 °C; transport range is –55 to +80 °C. Type of assignment is 2, which means Type 2 coordination: under a short-circuit fault, the starter remains operational after clearing the fault — no replacement of the contactor or overload relay required. That is a key specification for production lines where downtime for component swap is unacceptable.
