What this SIRIUS direct starter delivers
The 3RA2115-1AE15-1FB4 is a Siemens SIRIUS direct-on-line starter — a pre-assembled combination of a contactor, thermal overload relay, and circuit breaker in one S00-size package. The magnetic short-circuit trip handles fault clearing independently of the thermal element, so a phase-to-phase fault on the load side opens the circuit breaker instantly without waiting for the bimetal to heat.
Panel fit and mounting constraints
This starter mounts on 35 mm standard DIN rail via screw and snap-on fastening, or can be screw-mounted to a backplate. Clearance requirements: 50 mm above, 20 mm below, 20 mm to the sides, and 20 mm forward for wiring access. No clearance needed behind the unit. Mounting position is vertical only — horizontal mounting changes the thermal trip characteristic. Main circuit and auxiliary/control circuit connections use spring-loaded terminals — no screw torque to verify, but the wire must be solid or ferruled stranded to engage the cage properly.
What's in the box — supplied sub-assemblies
The starter ships with three factory-matched components: a 3RT2015-2FB41 contactor, a 3RV2011-1AA25 circuit breaker, and a 3RA2911-2AA00 link module that interconnects them. The contactor coil is 24 VDC — confirm your control voltage matches before wiring. The auxiliary switch extension is available as a field-addable option (product extension auxiliary switch = Yes), so you can add feedback contacts for PLC status monitoring without replacing the starter.
Environmental and compliance envelope
Operating temperature range is -20 to +60 °C, with 10-95 % relative humidity non-condensing. Storage and transport range is -50 to +80 °C.
