What this SIRIUS starter brings to a panel
The Siemens 3RA2115-1ED15-1AP6 is a non-fused direct motor starter from the SIRIUS 3RA2 family, size S00, combining a contactor and a thermal bimetallic overload relay in one assembly. The unit ships with a 3RT2015-1AP61 contactor and a 3RA1921-1DA00 link module pre-assembled; the overload release is thermal bimetallic, adjustable to the motor FLA. For the 480 V line, the starter is rated at 3.95 A (2 hp); at 600 V it carries 4 A (3 hp). At 400 V it handles 1 500 W. These are AC-3 motor-switching ratings, so the part is sized for the load, not the bus.
The starter snaps onto 60 mm busbar systems — the standard metric spacing for IEC distribution panels. That means it drops into the same footprint as other S00 load feeders without extra brackets. Mounting position is vertical only; the enclosure dimensions are 200 mm high by 45 mm wide by 155.1 mm deep. Clearance requirements: 20 mm upward, 10 mm downward, 9 mm to the side, and zero forward or backward. That 45 mm width is a single modular unit — no need to gut the existing layout to fit it in.
Coordination and environmental limits
The starter is designed for type of assignment 2 coordination (Type 2 — no damage to the starter under short-circuit conditions up to the rated SCCR). Operating temperature range is -20 to +60 °C; storage range is -50 to +80 °C; transport range is -55 to +80 °C. The main circuit wiring accepts 0.5 to 4 mm² stranded, or 2x 0.75 to 2.5 mm².
