What this SIRIUS 3RA2 motor starter delivers
The Siemens 3RA2115-1FA15-1BB4 is a non-fused direct motor starter from the SIRIUS 3RA2 series, size S00. It combines a 3RT2015-1BB41 contactor and a thermal bimetallic overload relay in one package, saving panel space over separate components. The 24 V DC coil keeps control circuit wiring simple on standard PLC outputs. That's the trip class most panel specs call out for general-purpose motor branches.
Panel fit and wiring
At 45 mm wide on the DIN rail, this starter fits a single 2.5-module slot in a standard enclosure. Mounting position is vertical, and the housing snaps onto the rail or screws in place with an optional push-in lug. Depth is 97.1 mm, height 167.2 mm — leaves enough clearance behind a 200 mm deep enclosure door. Clearance needs: 20 mm above, 10 mm below, 9 mm at the sides, zero forward or backward. The supplied link module 3RA1921-1DA00 bridges the contactor to the overload block internally.
Environment and compliance
Rated for pollution degree 3 (conductive or dry non-conductive pollution that becomes conductive under condensation), so it's suited for industrial control panels without climate control. Operating temperature range is -20 to +60 °C, storage -50 to +80 °C, transport -55 to +80 °C. Assignment type 1 means the starter is designed for individual motor starting without coordination to a specific upstream short-circuit protective device — typical for a dedicated motor branch circuit.
