CLASS 10 trip curve and motor protection
The 3RA2115-1FD15-1BB4: The CLASS 10 trip class means the overload relay must trip within 10 seconds at 600% of the set current, per IEC 60947-4-1. This is the standard for standard-duty motor starting — it allows the inrush to pass during acceleration but protects the motor winding if the rotor stalls. The overload element is thermal bimetallic, so the trip time follows an I²t curve that tracks the motor's thermal state. For audit purposes, this is the same protection principle used across the SIRIUS S00 feeder family.
Rated for the common line voltages
At 400 V rated value the starter is rated for 1500 W; at 460/480 V it is rated for 3 hp. The maximum AC-3 operating voltage is 690 V, which covers 575/600 V systems at 3 hp and 4.55 A at 600 V. Confirm the control circuit is 24 VDC, not 120 VAC, before wiring.
Pre-assembled — what is in the box
This is a factory-assembled direct starter: it ships with the 3RT2015-1BB41 contactor, the 3RA1921-1DA00 link module, and the 8US1251-5DS10 busbar adapter. No separate ordering of contactor and overload — one order code, one assembly. The supplied contactor is size S00, matching the load feeder size. The busbar adapter snaps onto 60 mm busbar systems, which is the standard metric spacing for panelboard distribution.
Mounting and panel clearance
Mounting position is vertical only. Clearance requirements: 20 mm upwards, 10 mm downwards, 9 mm at the side, and 0 mm forwards or backwards. The 45 mm width and 155.1 mm depth fit a standard S00 footprint on DIN rail or busbar. This covers common motor leads up to 4 AWG.
