The 3RA2115-1JA16-1AK6: It ships as a factory-assembled combination: a 3RT2016-1AK61 contactor paired with a thermal bimetallic overload relay and a link module (3RA1921-1DA00) that ties them together. No separate wiring between the contactor and overload — it arrives as a single unit ready to snap onto the DIN rail.
The 45 mm width and 167.2 mm height (97.1 mm depth) are the S00 frame standard. It snap-mounts onto a DIN rail or screws in place with an additional push-in lug — the mounting position is vertical, so plan the enclosure layout with that orientation. Clearance requirements: 20 mm upward, 10 mm downward, 9 mm at the sides, zero forward or backward. That 9 mm side gap is tight — adjacent devices need that breathing room for heat dissipation from the bimetallic overload.
Class 10 trip — thermal bimetallic overload, direct starter
That's the standard for standard-duty motor starting (pumps, fans, conveyors) where the acceleration time stays under 10 seconds. For heavy inertia loads that need a longer ramp, Class 10 may nuisance-trip; that's the engineering constraint to check against the load profile. The horsepower ratings span 2 hp at 200/208 V up to 7.5 hp at 575/600 V — a single unit covers the North American voltage ladder without a hardware change.
Environmental range and pollution class
The degree of pollution is 3 — that's the industrial environment rating where conductive pollution or dry non-conductive pollution that becomes conductive due to condensation is expected. No additional conformal coating needed for typical panel conditions.
