SIRIUS 3RA2 non-fused motor starter — what ships in the box
The 3RA2120-1CD23-0BB4: This is a Siemens SIRIUS 3RA2 non-fused direct starter, size S0, assembled and tested as a single unit. It ships with a 3RT2023-1BB40 contactor, a 3RA2921-1BA00 link module, and a 8US1251-5NT10 busbar adapter — the three sub-assemblies that make the starter ready to snap onto a 60 mm busbar system. The overload release is thermal bimetallic, Class 10 trip characteristic, which means it protects standard squirrel-cage motors during start-up without nuisance tripping on normal acceleration. The switching contact is electromechanical, not solid-state.
Rated power and voltage — AC-3 duty across global line voltages
At 400 V AC-3 the starter is rated 750 W; at 500 V it delivers 1 100 W. The maximum AC-3 operating voltage is 690 V. The coil is 24 V DC — confirm your control voltage matches; a 24 V DC coil on a 24 V AC supply will not hold in. The unit draws its control power from the busbar system via the supplied adapter, keeping the panel wiring clean.
Mounting and clearances — panel integration notes
The starter snaps onto 60 mm busbar systems (the standard Siemens S0/S00 busbar footprint). Mounting position is vertical only. Dimensions: 45 mm wide, 165 mm deep, 260 mm tall — it occupies a single 45 mm slot on the busbar. Required clearances around the unit: 30 mm upwards, 10 mm forwards, 10 mm downwards, 9 mm at the sides, 0 mm backwards. These are the minimum air gaps for heat dissipation and arc flash containment — do not compress them in a dense panel.
Lifecycle and compliance — active, with documentation
Operating temperature range is -20 to +60 °C; storage range is -50 to +80 °C; transport range is -55 to +80 °C. Pollution degree 3 — suitable for industrial environments with conductive dust or occasional condensation.
