73 A AC-3 — the number that decides the motor load
The 3RA2130-4KA38-0NB3: At 480 V it delivers 65 A; at 600 V it holds 62 A. The AC-3 rating governs the contactor's ability to make and break locked-rotor current, so this starter handles motors up to about 37 kW at 400 V without derating.
DIN-rail footprint and panel fit
Mounts on two 35 mm DIN rails via screw and snap-on fastening — the 274 mm height and 55 mm width mean it occupies three adjacent 18 mm module spaces plus the rail overhang. Depth is 150 mm, which clears most 200 mm deep enclosures. Clearance requirements: 50 mm above, 32 mm in front, 10 mm below, 10 mm at the sides, and 0 mm behind — the back sits flush against the rail.
Class 10 overload — what the trip curve means
That's the standard for standard-duty motor starting: the inrush transient clears before the bimetal heats up, but a sustained overload or phase-loss condition locks out fast enough to protect the winding insulation. The release is temperature-compensated across the -20 to +60 °C operating range.
What's in the box — supplied subassemblies
This order code ships as a factory-assembled unit containing a 3RT2038-1NB30 contactor and a 3RA2931-1AA00 link module. The main-circuit terminals are screw-type. The control coil is rated 20–33 V at 50/60 Hz, drawing 2 VA. The circuit-breaker size is S2, matching the load feeder size.
