What the AC-3 rating means for motor switching
The 3RA2130-4UA35-0NB3: AC-3 covers starting and plugging of squirrel-cage motors — the 40 A figure is the continuous current the starter can handle while switching motor loads under those conditions, not a resistive-heating rating.
Panel fit and mounting constraints
Mounts via screw or snap-on to two 35 mm DIN rails in vertical or horizontal orientation. Dimensions: 274 mm height, 55 mm width, 150 mm depth. Clearance requirements: 50 mm upwards, 32 mm forwards, 10 mm downwards, 10 mm at the side, and 0 mm backwards. The S2 size load feeder and screw-type main circuit terminals are standard for panel builders wiring with ring or fork lugs.
Supplied components and operating conditions
The starter ships as a factory-assembled unit including contactor 3RT2035-1NB30 and link module 3RA2931-1AA00. Control supply voltage is 20–33 V at 50/60 Hz, drawing 2 VA at both frequencies. Operating temperature range is -20 to +60 °C; storage and transport range is -50 to +80 °C. RoHS compliance date is 03/01/2017.
