S00 reversing starter — form factor and panel fit
The 3RA2210-0CA15-2BB4: This is a pre-assembled reversing starter, not a loose contactor. It ships with the supplied contactor 3RT2015-1BB42 and link module 3RA1921-1DA00 integrated into a single unit. The S00 frame size keeps the footprint compact — 97 mm deep, 90 mm wide, 170 mm tall. Clearance requirements: 50 mm upwards, 32 mm forwards, 10 mm downwards, 10 mm at the sides, 0 mm backwards. The backwards clearance of zero means the unit can sit flush against a back panel or gland plate — no air gap needed behind it.
AC-3 duty and motor protection — the ratings that govern selection
Maximum operating voltage for AC-3 is 690 V. The 50/60 Hz operating frequency covers both mains standards. Overload protection is Class 10 thermal bimetallic — the trip element responds to motor heating with a 10-second maximum trip time at 7.2× setting current. The magnetic short-circuit trip provides instantaneous magnetic release for fault clearing. This combination means the starter coordinates with upstream protection for Type 1 or Type 2 coordination, depending on the breaker selection.
Environmental qualification — storage, transport, and operating limits
Storage and transport temperature range is -50 to +80 °C. Operating ambient is -20 to +60 °C with temperature compensation active across that same range. The wide storage window means the unit can sit in a warehouse or on a truck without climate control, but the operating envelope is standard industrial — no sub-freezing startup without pre-heating.
Communication and wiring — hardwired only, no fieldbus
This reversing starter does not support PROFIsafe or PROFINET IO protocols. It is a purely hardwired unit — control and power connections are made through screw-type terminals on the main current circuit. No fieldbus configuration, no IO mapping, no software download required. The 24 V rated control supply voltage is standard for industrial PLC output cards.
