Reversing starter, Size S00 — 550 W at 400 V
The 3RA2210-1AD15-2AP6: That power rating covers fractional-horsepower motors typical on small conveyors, pumps, and valve actuators where forward/reverse control is needed. The reversing configuration means the starter integrates two contactors mechanically interlocked — one for forward, one for reverse — plus the thermal overload relay, all in a single 90 mm wide package. This saves panel space versus wiring two separate contactors with an external interlock. The control voltage range is 187–242 V at 50 Hz and 192–264 V at 60 Hz, covering standard 230 V control circuits.
Class 10 thermal overload — what it means for motor protection
The overload release is thermal bimetallic, Trip Class 10. The thermal bimetallic design responds to the motor's actual heating curve, not just instantaneous current. This gives better protection for intermittent-duty cycles than a magnetic-only device, because the bimetal integrates the I²t heating over time. Operating temperature range is -20 to +60 °C, with storage from -50 to +80 °C. The thermal trip characteristic shifts with ambient temperature — in a hot panel near the upper limit, the effective trip current derates slightly. Plan for this if the starter sits next to heat-generating drives or transformers.
Snap-on busbar mounting and panel integration
This starter fastens by snapping onto 60 mm busbar systems — the standard Siemens SIRIUS busbar adapter 8US1251-5DS10 is supplied with the unit. No DIN rail required if you're using the busbar distribution system; the adapter clips the starter directly to the busbar and makes the power connection. Mounting position is vertical only. Dimensions are 200 mm height, 90 mm width, 155.1 mm depth. The clearance requirements are: 20 mm upwards, 10 mm downwards, 9 mm at the side, and 0 mm forwards or backwards — so it can be stacked tight against the back panel or enclosure wall. The supplied contactor is 3RT2015-1AP62 and the link module is 3RA1921-1DA00 — these are pre-assembled and wired internally.
Active production — sourcing for project milestones
RoHS compliance date is 03/01/2017 — the starter meets the EU RoHS directive for substances of concern.
