The 3RA2210-1DE15-2BB4: The reversing starter integrates two contactors with a mechanical interlock so that both forward and reverse contactors cannot be closed simultaneously — a standard requirement for reversing motor drives. This unit ships with a 3RT2015-2BB42 contactor and a 3RA2911-2AA00 link module pre-assembled. The assembly is wired and tested as a single orderable SKU, which saves panel build time compared to piecing together the contactors, interlock, and base plate separately.
Trip Class 10 and spring-loaded terminals
For longer ramp times (high-inertia loads like centrifuges), a Class 20 or 30 starter would be the better fit. The main circuit uses spring-loaded terminals, which accept solid or ferruled stranded wire without needing to retighten during thermal cycling. This is a time-saver on the panel wireway compared to screw-clamp terminals that need a torque check after the first heat run.
Mounting and clearance dimensions
The reversing starter mounts on 35 mm DIN rail via screw and snap-on fastening. The mounting position is vertical. Clearance requirements: 50 mm upwards, 32 mm forwards, 10 mm downwards, and 10 mm at the side. No clearance needed backwards. The overall dimensions are 204 mm height, 90 mm width, and 97 mm depth.
