Reversing starter, S00 frame, 24 V DC coil
The Siemens 3RA2215-0AA15-2BB4 is a SIRIUS non-fused reversing motor starter in Size S00, combining a contactor, thermal overload relay, and magnetic short-circuit trip in one assembly for forward/reverse motor control.
Mounting envelope and panel clearances
Snap-mounts onto 35 mm DIN rail or screws to a backplate with the supplied push-in lug; the 90 mm width × 170 mm height × 97.1 mm depth footprint fits standard S00 feeder slots in Siemens motor starter panels. Requires 20 mm clearance above, 10 mm below, 9 mm at the sides, and zero clearance forward or backward — meaning it can butt against the backpanel and adjacent devices without derating. Vertical mounting position only; operating ambient -20 to +60 °C, storage -50 to +80 °C — the thermal overload calibration assumes vertical orientation for proper bimetallic strip convection.
Supplied components and wiring
Ships with contactor 3RT2015-1BB42, circuit-breaker 3RV2011-0AA15, and link module 3RA1921-1DA00 — the reversing contactor pair and breaker are pre-assembled and mechanically interlocked to prevent simultaneous closure. Main circuit terminals accept 0.5 to 4 mm² stranded wire (2× 0.75-2.5 mm²) or 2× AWG 20-16 (contactor side 2× 18-14, 2× 12); the screw terminals are sized for standard motor leads up to 4 mm². Assignment type 2 coordination means the starter withstands short-circuit faults up to the breaker's breaking capacity without damage to the contactor or overload — no contactor replacement after a fault.
Lifecycle and sourcing
Pollution degree 3 rating (conductive pollution or dry non-conductive pollution that becomes conductive due to condensation) suits industrial control panels without climate control — typical for factory-floor enclosures. Surge voltage resistance 6 kV per IEC 60947-1; auxiliary switch extension is possible (product extension auxiliary switch: Yes) for status feedback to a PLC or HMI.
