Reversing starter with integrated overload – what it replaces in a panel
The 3RA2215-0GA15-2AK6 is a SIRIUS non-fused reversing motor starter in size S00 – a single unit that combines a reversing contactor pair and a thermal bimetallic overload relay in one DIN-rail footprint. It eliminates the separate wiring and panel space needed for two contactors plus an overload, reducing the chance of a cross-wired reversing circuit during commissioning. The Class 10 trip curve means it will clear an overload before the motor windings reach damaging temperature under a stalled-rotor condition – the standard for most general-purpose induction motors.
Mounting and panel layout – S00 footprint constraints
Mounting position is vertical only – horizontal mounting is not supported and will affect the bimetallic trip accuracy. The S00 body measures 90 mm wide by 170 mm tall by 97.1 mm deep, with 20 mm clearance required above and 10 mm below for airflow and wiring access. Side clearance of 9 mm is needed on each side to adjacent devices. The depth of 97.1 mm means it will fit a standard 120 mm deep enclosure without crowding the door, but check the back-panel clearance if using a shallow gland plate.
Supplied components – what comes in the box
This reversing starter ships with a 3RT2015-1AK62 contactor and a 3RV2011-0GA15 circuit-breaker pre-assembled via a 3RA1921-1DA00 link module. The contactor handles the reversing logic; the circuit-breaker provides magnetic short-circuit protection and the thermal overload release. The auxiliary switch option is available – the unit supports adding auxiliary contact blocks for status feedback to a PLC. Main contact wiring accepts 0.5 to 4 mm² stranded or 2x (20 to 16) AWG, with a second conductor range of 2x (18 to 14) AWG for the contactor side. The circuit-breaker is size S00, matching the feeder size.
Because it is a reversing starter with a built-in circuit-breaker, the panel design is locked to this specific combination. If you need to replace only the contactor or the breaker, the supplied subcomponents (3RT2015-1AK62 and 3RV2011-0GA15) are available separately, but the link module 3RA1921-1DA00 is specific to this assembly.
