Reversing starter in a single footprint
The Siemens 3RA2215-1FA15-2BB4 is a SIRIUS 3RA2 non-fused reversing motor starter — two contactors and a thermal overload relay integrated into one Size S00 housing. That means forward/reverse control of a three-phase motor without wiring two separate contactors and an interlock; the mechanical interlock is built in. Rated for AC-3 switching up to 690 V, it handles 1.5 kW at 400 V (4.8 A at 480 V, 4.55 A at 600 V) — typical for small conveyors, pumps, and fan drives where direction reversal is needed. The 24 V coil keeps control voltage low for PLC-driven panels.
Trip Class 10 and thermal bimetallic overload
The thermal bimetallic design is field-adjustable and resets automatically after cooling, which keeps production lines running after a momentary overload event. The supplied contactor is a 3RT2015-1BB42, and the link module is 3RA1921-1DA00 — these are factory-integrated, not loose parts.
Mounting and panel integration
Snap-mounts onto 35 mm DIN rail or screws directly to a backplate with the included push-in lug — no adapter bracket needed. The envelope is 90 mm wide × 97.1 mm deep × 170 mm tall, with 20 mm clearance required above and 10 mm below for wiring and heat dissipation. Side clearance is 9 mm. Mounting position is vertical only, which aligns with the bimetallic strip's convection cooling path. Ambient operating range is -20 to +60 °C; storage range is -50 to +80 °C. Pollution degree 3 means it's rated for industrial environments with conductive dust or occasional condensation.
