Reversing starter, S00 frame — what it packs
The 3RA2215-1KD17-2BB4 is a SIRIUS non-fused reversing motor starter in size S00, combining a contactor, thermal overload relay, and reversing interlock in one assembly that snaps onto 60 mm busbar systems. It ships with the contactor 3RT2017-1BB42, the link module 3RA1921-1DA00, and the busbar adapter 8US1251-5DS10 — so the reversing pair and overload are pre-wired and mechanically interlocked out of the box.
The overload release is thermal bimetallic, so ambient temperature shifts affect the trip curve — mounted vertically per specification, the self-heating from the motor current and the enclosure ambient both factor into the actual protection threshold. Operating range is -20 to +60 °C, with storage from -50 to +80 °C — the wider storage band matters if the starter sits in an unheated warehouse before panel integration.
Mounting and panel fit — busbar snap-on, vertical only
Fastening is by snapping onto 60 mm busbar systems — no DIN-rail adapter needed, but the busbar pitch must match the S00 footprint. Mounting position is vertical only; horizontal installation changes the thermal calibration of the bimetallic overload. Dimensions are 155.1 mm deep, 90 mm wide, 200 mm high. Clearance requirements: 20 mm upwards, 10 mm downwards, 9 mm at the side, and zero forwards or backwards — so it fits tight against the back panel or enclosure wall.
Current production — sourcing and documentation
The 24 V coil is standard for modern PLC-driven panels; the pollution degree 3 rating means it is rated for industrial environments with conductive dust or occasional condensation — no additional conformal coating required for most cabinet installations.
