The Siemens 3RA2215-4AD18-2AP6 is a SIRIUS non-fused reversing motor starter, Size S00, combining a reversing contactor pair and a thermal bimetallic overload relay in one compact unit. It snaps onto 60 mm busbar systems, saving panel space over a discrete contactor-plus-overload build. Rated for 7.5 kW at 400 V AC-3, with a maximum switching voltage of 690 V. The Class 10 trip curve protects standard induction motors during start-up, tripping fast enough to prevent winding damage on a stalled rotor. The supplied contactor is a 3RT2018-1AP62, and the link module is 3RA1921-1DA00. Main-circuit wiring accepts 0.5 to 4 mm² stranded, or 2x (0.75 to 2.5 mm²) stranded.
At 400 V the unit delivers 7.5 kW; at 480 V it carries 14 A, good for a 10 hp motor. At 600 V the current drops to 11 A, still covering a 10 hp motor at that voltage. The 690 V maximum is the contactor's rated insulation voltage, not a continuous motor rating — stay within the AC-3 current limits for the applied voltage. The thermal overload release is bimetallic, ambient-compensated across the -20 to +60 °C operating range. Mounting is vertical only. Clearances: 20 mm upwards, 10 mm downwards, 9 mm at the sides. Zero clearance forward or backward, so the unit can sit flush against a backplate.
No official successor has been issued for this order code. If a cross-reference is needed for a BOM line, the closest functional equivalent within the same SIRIUS platform shares the same Size S00 footprint and Class 10 trip characteristic — verify the coil voltage and overload setting range against your application.
