SIRIUS reversing starter, size S0 — 3 kW at 400 V
The Siemens 3RA2220-1HF24-0AP0 is a SIRIUS reversing starter, size S0, combining a 3RT2024-2AP00 contactor and a 3RA2921-2AA00 link module with a thermal bimetallic overload relay in a single assembly. The Class 10 trip characteristic protects standard squirrel-cage motors during start-up — the overload relay allows a 10-second thermal lockout at locked-rotor current before tripping, matching the acceleration time of most general-purpose pumps and fans.
Mounting and enclosure fit — DIN rail clearances
Mounts on a 35 mm standard DIN rail via the supplied adapter, or screws directly to a backplate. The vertical mounting position is mandatory for the bimetallic overload to track ambient temperature correctly. Envelope is 90 mm wide, 130 mm deep, 269 mm tall. Clearance requirements: 50 mm above, 32 mm in front, 10 mm at the sides, 10 mm below — no space needed behind the rail. These clearances govern the DIN-rail segment pitch in a crowded panel; a 90 mm wide starter needs at least 110 mm of rail width per unit when side clearances are shared.
Duty ratings and operating envelope
Maximum AC-3 switching voltage is 690 V. Operating frequency is 50/60 Hz; the thermal overload is temperature-compensated across -20 to +60 °C ambient. Storage and transport limits are -50 to +80 °C. Substance prohibitance (RoHS compliance) dated 03/01/2017 — the starter meets EU RoHS requirements for that effective date.
