The Siemens 3RA2225-0GB23-0AP6 is a non-fused reversing motor starter from the SIRIUS 3RA2 family, combining a reversing contactor pair, a thermal bimetallic overload relay (Class 10), and a magnetic short-circuit trip in one assembly sized S0 for the load feeder and S00 for the circuit-breaker section. It is designed to start, stop, and reverse a three-phase motor in a single enclosure — no separate reversing contactor stack or external overload to wire up. The supplied contactor is a 3RT2023-1AP60, and the link module 3RA2921-1AA00 and busbar adapter 3RA2922-1AA00 are included to simplify the panel wiring. Rated for a maximum operating voltage of 690 V at AC-3 duty and a frequency range of 50 to 60 Hz, this starter handles motor loads up to the thermal rating of its overload relay. The Trip Class 10 means the bimetallic element will trip within 10 seconds at 7.2× the set current — standard protection for standard induction motors that don't need the slower Class 20 or the faster Class 5. The magnetic short-circuit trip handles the instantaneous fault clearing.
Mounting and integration into a panel
Main contact wiring accepts stranded conductors from 1 to 10 mm², or two conductors of 2.5 to 6 mm² each. For AWG, that translates to 2x (16 to 12) or 2x (14 to 8). The reversing assembly includes the RH assembly kit 3RA2923-1BB1 for mechanical interlocking, so the two contactors cannot close simultaneously — a requirement for reversing duty that prevents phase-to-phase shorts.
