Reversing starter for direction-dependent motor loads
The 3RA2225-0JB23-0AK6 is a SIRIUS non-fused reversing motor starter — two contactors interlocked in one package so a single control signal swaps motor rotation without external interlocking wiring. Rated 250 W at 400 V (50/60 Hz) in AC-3 duty, it handles reversing applications like conveyor drives, gate actuators, and pump direction changes where the load inertia is moderate.
Size S0 envelope and DIN rail fit
Size S0 load feeder with snap-on fastening to 35 mm standard rail — no screws or brackets needed for the mounting base, though the reversing assembly adds height at 265 mm. Depth is 120 mm, width 90 mm — the reversing interlock and busbar adapter (supplied as 3RA2922-1AA00) sit within this footprint, so the panel cut-out and gland plate clearance are the same as a single-direction S0 starter. Clearance requirements: 30 mm upwards, 10 mm forwards and downwards, 9 mm at the side, 0 mm backwards — the back face sits flush against the mounting plate.
Thermal overload and environmental limits
The overload release is thermal bimetallic — it tracks motor heating by sensing current through a bimetal strip, not electronic, so it's immune to harmonics and works without auxiliary power. Operating temperature range is -20 to +60 °C; storage range -50 to +80 °C; transport range -55 to +80 °C — suitable for unheated warehouses and truck transport in most climates. Degree of pollution 3 means the starter is rated for conductive pollution environments typical of industrial control panels — no additional conformal coating needed for normal factory air.
The supplied contactor is 3RT2023-1AK60, the link module is 3RA2921-1AA00, and the busbar adapter is 3RA2922-1AA00 — all current catalog items, so replacement modules are available if a single component fails in the field.
