Class 10 trip and thermal bimetallic overload — what that means for the motor
The bimetallic element tracks motor heating by sensing current, not temperature; it's the workhorse choice for fixed-speed applications where ambient compensation isn't critical. The 3RA2 series uses a Size S00 circuit-breaker upstream (not included) for short-circuit protection. The starter itself is non-fused — the interrupting duty falls on the breaker, not the contactor. Pollution degree 3 (conductive pollution or dry non-conductive with condensation) means it's rated for industrial control panels, not clean-room environments.
Snap-on busbar mounting and panel clearances
Mounts by snapping onto 60 mm busbar systems — no DIN rail adapter needed for the busbar. Mounting position is vertical only. The unit measures 155 mm deep × 90 mm wide × 260 mm high, and requires 30 mm clearance upwards, 10 mm forwards, 10 mm downwards, and 9 mm at the side for airflow and wiring access. The supplied busbar adapter (8US1251-5NT10) is included in the assembly, so no separate ordering for the busbar foot. The link module (3RA2921-1AA00) handles the mechanical interlock between the two contactors — no extra linkage to source.
Coil voltage and power ratings across global line voltages
The coil is rated 88–121 V at 50 Hz and 96–132 V at 60 Hz — a standard control voltage range for 110–120 VAC control transformers. The 690 V rating delivers 1,100 W for 575 V class systems. Operating temperature range is -20 to +60 °C; storage range is -50 to +80 °C; transport range is -55 to +80 °C.
