What this assembly is
The Siemens 3RA2316-8XB37-1DW4 is a factory-assembled reversing contactor from the SIRIUS family, size S00. It ships as a complete unit with two 3RT2016-1DW47 contactors and a built-in varistor surge suppressor wired across the coil.
Motor ratings and duty
The AC-3 rating means it switches motors during starting and plugging — the contactors are sized for the inrush, not just the running current. At 480 V it is rated 7.6 A, at 600 V it carries 9 A, and at 690 V the motor power rating is 5.5 kW. Horsepower equivalents are 2 hp at 200/208 V, 3 hp at 220/230 V, 5 hp at 460/480 V, and 7.5 hp at 575/600 V.
The S00 footprint is compact: 90 mm wide, 68 mm tall, 145 mm deep. Clearance around the assembly is 6 mm upwards, forwards, downwards, and to the side; zero clearance needed backwards.
Wiring terminals
