Reversing contactor assembly for motor direction control
The Siemens 3RA2325-8XB30-1BG4 is a factory-assembled reversing contactor from the SIRIUS family, S0 frame size. It ships with two 3RT2025-1BG40 contactors and the 3RA2923-2AA1 mechanical interlock kit already fitted — no field assembly of the reversing linkage required. The AC-4 rating at 400 V is also 7.5 kW — this is the plugging / inching duty rating. If the application involves frequent reversing under load (jogging, inching), use the AC-4 figure for contactor sizing, not the AC-3 number.
DIN rail mounting and panel fit
Mounts via screw fixing or snap-on onto 35 mm standard mounting rail (EN 60715). This matters when the panel layout forces the reversing contactor onto a slanted sub-panel or a swing frame. Dimensions: 101 mm height, 90 mm width, 107 mm depth. Clearance requirements: 6 mm upwards, forwards, downwards, and to the side; 0 mm backwards (the DIN rail side). The S0 footprint fits standard 90 mm-wide spacing in a distribution board.
Terminal specs — main and control wiring
AWG equivalents for main contacts: 2x (16... 12) and 2x (14... 8). That's enough for the 14 A / 17 A current range without piggybacking. Coil terminals are also screw-type. The mechanical life is 10 million operations typical — the contactor itself is the wear item, not the interlock mechanism.
Environmental and compliance
The shock resistance ratings: 11.8 g / 5 ms and 7.4 g / 10 ms under AC conditions, 15 g / 5 ms and 10 g / 10 ms under DC. This is relevant for installations on vibrating machinery or in rolling stock panels.
The lifecycle stage is current production — this is an active Siemens catalog item, not a phase-out or NRND line. No official successor or cross-reference is needed; this is the current standard reversing contactor assembly for the S0 frame in the SIRIUS family.
