Reversing contactor assembly for motor reversing
The Siemens 3RA2325-8XD30-1DM4 is a SIRIUS reversing contactor assembly in size S0, designed to switch the direction of a three-phase motor by alternating the phase sequence. It ships with two 3RT2025-1BM40 contactors, one per direction of rotation, and a mechanical interlock that prevents both contactors from closing simultaneously. The AC-4 rating at 400 V is also 7.5 kW, so it handles plugging and inching duty without derating.
Mounting and wiring flexibility
Clearance around the assembly: 6 mm upwards, forwards, downwards, and to the side; 0 mm backwards. AWG equivalents for main contacts: 2x (16…12) and 2x (14…8). Coil terminals are screw-type. The built-in varistor surge suppressor protects the coil from voltage spikes.
Environmental and mechanical endurance
Operates in ambient temperatures from -25 °C to +60 °C; storage range is -55 °C to +80 °C. Vibration resistance: 11.8 g at 5 ms (AC) and 15 g at 5 ms (DC). Mechanical life of the contactor is 10 million operations typical — suitable for frequent reversing cycles in conveyor or hoist applications.
