What this reversing contactor assembly is
The Siemens 3RA2325-8XE30-2BB4 is a SIRIUS reversing contactor assembly — two contactors mechanically interlocked in one package so only one set of power poles closes at a time, preventing a phase-to-phase short when reversing a three-phase motor. Each direction of rotation uses one supplied contactor: 3RT2025-2BB40-0CC0 and 3RT2025-2BB40, both S0 frame size. The reversing kit assembly 3RA2923-2AA2 ties them together.
Motor ratings across supply voltages
At 400 V AC-3 duty it switches 7.5 kW; at 480 V the current rating is 14 A; at 600 V it's 17 A; at 690 V it's 11 kW. The AC-4 rating at 400 V is also 7.5 kW — useful for plugging and inching duty where the contactor breaks full motor current. The coil is 24 VDC with spring-type terminals; the main current circuit also uses spring-loaded terminals, which cuts wiring time versus screw-clamp on the power side.
Mounting and panel fit
Dimensions: 114 mm high, 90 mm wide, 107 mm deep. The S0 frame size is the most common for contactors up to about 15 hp; it fits standard 8-inch deep enclosures without depth issues. Clearance around the assembly: 6 mm upwards, forwards, downwards, and to the side; zero backwards clearance needed — it can sit flush against the back panel.
Environmental and mechanical endurance
The mechanical life is 10 million operations typical — the contactor block itself is rated for that, not the reversing assembly, but it gives a solid baseline for maintenance planning. Vibration resistance: 11.8 g / 5 ms and 7.4 g / 10 ms on AC; 15 g / 5 ms and 10 g / 10 ms on DC. That's tough enough for most industrial environments — conveyors, pumps, compressors.
