Reversing contactor assembly for motor direction control
The Siemens 3RA2326-8XB30-1AL2 is a SIRIUS reversing contactor assembly — a factory-built pair of contactors mechanically interlocked so only one can close at a time, used to reverse a three-phase motor's direction without external interposing relays. Rated 11 kW at 400 V AC-3 (21 A at 480 V, 22 A at 600 V), it handles reversing duty on pumps, conveyors, and hoists up to that power level. The AC-3 rating means it switches starting currents typical of squirrel-cage motors — the contactor is designed for the inrush, not just the running load. The assembly includes one 3RT2026-1AL20 contactor per direction of rotation, with screw-type terminals on both the main current circuit and the magnet coil.
The S0 contactor frame size keeps the footprint compact: 90 mm wide, 101 mm high, 97 mm deep. Clearance around the unit: 6 mm upwards, forwards, downwards, and to the side; 0 mm backwards, meaning it can sit flush against the backplane. The screw terminals are the same type on both main and coil circuits, simplifying the wiring bill of materials.
