Reversing motor control in a single DIN-rail footprint
The Siemens 3RA2336-8XB30-1AG2 is a SIRIUS reversing contactor assembly — two mechanically interlocked contactors in one package that swaps motor rotation direction without external interlocks. It ships with two 3RT2036-1AG20 contactors pre-assembled, saving panel wiring time. The 800 cycles/hour maximum at AC-3 matches the duty cycle of frequent reversing applications. This eases integration into tight panel layouts where orientation is constrained.
Termination and wiring capacity
The coil connection is also screw-type — no special crimp tooling needed. Dimensions are 141 mm high × 120 mm wide × 130 mm deep. Allow 10 mm clearance upwards, forwards, downwards, and to the sides; zero clearance backwards. The S2 contactor frame size keeps the assembly compact for a 22 kW reversing starter.
Environmental and mechanical endurance
Operating temperature range is -25…+60 °C, storage -55…+80 °C. The assembly withstands shock at 18.5 g / 5 ms and 11.6 g / 10 ms, making it suitable for machine-mounted applications with vibration. Mechanical life is 10 million cycles typical for the contactor. The reversing assembly includes 2 instantaneous auxiliary contacts for status feedback or interlock wiring.
