What is this part and what does it do?
The Siemens 3RA2337-8XB30-1AP6 is a SIRIUS reversing contactor assembly — a pre-wired pair of contactors mechanically and electrically interlocked to reverse a three-phase motor without external wiring. It is rated 30 kW at 400 V AC-3 (the motor-switching duty class per IEC 60947-4-1), so it handles reversing loads like conveyor drives, hoists, and pump stations up to that power. At 480 V the same assembly carries 65 A, and at 690 V it still delivers 37 kW, giving headroom for 480/600 V北美 panels.
How does it mount and wire into a panel?
Mounting is screw-and-snap-on onto 35 mm DIN rail. The S2 frame (141 mm high × 120 mm wide × 130 mm deep) fits standard enclosure backplates. Clearance around the assembly: 10 mm upward, forward, downward, and sideways; 0 mm backward (flush to the rail). That matters for heat dissipation — at 700 operations per hour AC-3 maximum, the contactors cycle frequently, and the -25 to +60 °C operating range assumes free airflow around the block. Main-circuit wiring lands on screw-type terminals accepting 2× (1 … 35 mm²) solid or 1× (1 … 50 mm²) solid — that covers most motor feeds up to 50 mm². The coil terminals are also screw-type, 2× (0.5 … 1.5 mm²) solid or stranded. Two built-in instantaneous auxiliary contacts (NO/NC configurable) handle the interlock and feedback to the PLC without adding a separate aux block.
Is it still in production and how do I source it?
No end-of-life notice or successor code is recorded.
