The 3RA2416-8XF31-1AF0: This is a Siemens SIRIUS contactor assembly for star-delta (wye-delta) starting, size S00. It ships as a pre-configured kit with three contactors: two 3RT2017-1AF01 units for the line and star contactors, and one 3RT2015-1AF01 for the delta contactor, plus the 3RA2913-2BB1 RS assembly kit that ties them together mechanically and electrically.
Panel fit and mounting — 68 x 135 x 145 mm
The assembly measures 68 mm high, 135 mm wide, and 145 mm deep — compact for a three-contactor star-delta kit. Clearance requirements are minimal: 6 mm upwards, forwards, downwards, and to the side; 0 mm backwards. This lets you pack the assembly tight against the back panel or adjacent components.
Wiring and terminals — screw-type throughout
All connections use screw-type terminals: main current circuit, auxiliary and control circuit, and the magnet coil. For AWG, the main contacts accept 2x (20...16) or 2x (18...14).
Mechanical endurance and environmental specs
The contactor assembly is rated for 10,000,000 mechanical operations typical — a solid figure for a machine-tool or conveyor application where the star-delta transition happens every cycle. It operates from -25 to +60 °C and stores from -55 to +80 °C. Shock resistance is 10.5 g for 5 ms and 6.6 g for 10 ms, tested on both AC and DC supplies. The assembly has 3 instantaneous contacts; no auxiliary switch or bus communication module is fitted as standard.
