Star-delta contactor assembly, S00 frame
The Siemens 3RA2416-8XF31-2AP0 is a factory-assembled contactor assembly for star-delta (wye-delta) motor starting, part of the SIRIUS product family. It ships with three contactors: two 3RT2017-2AP01 and one 3RT2015-2AP01, plus the RS assembly kit 3RA2913-2BB2 for the interconnecting wiring.
Spring-loaded terminations and DIN-rail snap-on
Both the main current circuit and the auxiliary/control circuit use spring-loaded terminals (cage-clamp style). The control circuit uses the same spring-clamp format, so the whole assembly terminates with one tool. Mounting is screw-and-snap-on onto 35 mm standard mounting rail. The assembly can be rotated ±180° on a vertical surface and tilted forward/backward ±22.5° — useful when the panel layout forces an odd orientation. Clearance: 6 mm upwards, forwards, downwards, and to the sides; 0 mm backwards (it sits flush against the rail).
Mechanical life and environmental limits
Typical mechanical life of the contactors is 10,000,000 operations — the star-delta transition cycle wears the contacts differently than a direct-on-line start, but the mechanical endurance is the same across the S00 frame. The assembly is rated for vibration at 10.5 g / 5 ms and 6.6 g / 10 ms on both AC and DC supplies.
