Star-delta starter assembly — what ships in the box
This 3RA2416-8XF31-2AP6 is a pre-assembled SIRIUS contactor assembly for star-delta (wye-delta) starting of three-phase motors. It ships with three contactors: two 3RT2017-2AP61 and one 3RT2015-2AP61, plus the RS assembly kit 3RA2913-2BB2. Maximum AC-3 operating voltage is 690 V.
DIN rail fit and panel clearance
The S00 frame measures 84 mm high, 135 mm wide, and 145 mm deep — that depth includes the spring-loaded terminals, so plan for wire bend radius behind the rail. Clearance requirements: 6 mm upwards, forwards, downwards, and to the sides; 0 mm backwards (the back of the assembly sits flush against the mounting surface).
Terminations and wiring
All main circuit, auxiliary, and control circuit connections use spring-loaded terminals — no screw torquing needed, but the cage mechanism demands a solid or ferruled stranded conductor. The magnet coil also terminates on spring-type terminals. For AWG, main contacts accept 1x (20... 12). The spring clamp holds the full cross-section without cold flow — wire the ferrule fully seated before closing the lever.
Duty cycle and mechanical endurance
Maximum switching rate in AC-3 duty is 1 000 operations per hour. Typical mechanical life of the contactor is 10 000 000 cycles — this is the no-load mechanical endurance; electrical life under load will be lower and depends on the motor current and switching frequency. Shock resistance: 10.5 g for 5 ms and 6.6 g for 10 ms, tested at both AC and DC.
