Star-delta contactor assembly — 11 kW at 400 V
The Siemens 3RA2417-8XF31-1AF0 is a pre-assembled star-delta (wye-delta) contactor assembly rated for 11 kW at 400 V, designed to reduce inrush current during motor starting by connecting the windings in star configuration before switching to delta. It ships with three contactors: two 3RT2018-1AF01 units for the line and star contactors, and one 3RT2016-1AF01 for the delta contactor, plus the 3RA2913-2BB1 RS assembly kit — everything needed for a standard star-delta starter in one order code.
DIN rail mounting and panel fit
Clearance distances: 6 mm upwards, forwards, downwards, and to the side; 0 mm backwards — the rear face sits flush against the mounting surface, so no additional space is needed behind the rail.
Termination and wiring specs
Main current circuit and control coil both use screw-type terminals. AWG equivalents are 2x (20...16) and 2x (18...14). Auxiliary and control circuits also terminate with screw-type terminals, consistent with the main circuit for a uniform wiring approach across the assembly.
Environmental and mechanical endurance
Operates in ambient temperatures from -25 °C to +60 °C, with storage range from -55 °C to +80 °C — suitable for most industrial enclosures without active cooling. Mechanical life of the contactor is rated at 10,000,000 operating cycles typical, reflecting the S00 frame's durability for frequent switching applications. Vibration resistance tested at 11.4 g for 5 ms and 7.3 g for 10 ms under both AC and DC conditions, ensuring reliable operation in high-vibration environments like conveyor systems or compressor skids.
