Star-delta contactor assembly, S00 frame, 11 kW at 400 V
The Siemens 3RA2417-8XH31-1BB4 is a pre-assembled SIRIUS star-delta (wye-delta) contactor assembly built around three supplied contactors: two 3RT2018-1BB41-0CC0 units and one 3RT2016-1BB41. The 24 VDC magnet coil draws 10 W during both closing and holding, which means the control transformer and wiring need to budget for a steady 10 W draw, not just an inrush spike.
Mounting position and panel fit
Clearance requirements around the assembly are 6 mm upward, forward, downward, and to the side, with zero clearance needed at the rear.
Coordination and fuse assignment
For type 2 coordination, the required upstream fuses are gG NH 3NA, DIAZED 5SB, or NEOZED 5SE rated at 25 A. The assembly itself carries no auxiliary switch or bus communication extension — it is a pure power assembly, so any feedback to the PLC needs an external auxiliary contact block or a separate monitoring relay. The supplied RS assembly kit (3RA2913-2BB1) is included, which means the star-delta transition wiring and mechanical interlock are factory-configured — no need to source separate interlock modules or wire the delta contactor overlap manually.
