Star-delta contactor assembly — what's in the box
The 3RA2417-8YJ38-2AP0: That means it handles the transition from star to delta on a motor up to that load without you piecing together three separate contactors and the interlock wiring. It ships with three contactors: two 3RT2018-2AP01 units and one 3RT2016-2AP01, plus the RS assembly kit 3RA2913-2BB2. The assembly is already sized to the S00 frame, so the footprint stays compact on the DIN rail.
Termination and mounting — spring-loaded, snap-on
Both the main current circuit and the auxiliary/control circuit use spring-loaded terminals (cage-clamp style). No screwdriver torque check needed — push the ferrule in and the spring holds it. The assembly can be rotated ±180° on a vertical surface, and tilted forward or backward by ±22.5°. Clearance around the unit: 6 mm upwards, forwards, downwards, and to the side; 0 mm backwards. That zero rear clearance means it sits flush against the back panel, saving rail space.
Duty cycle and environmental limits
Rated for 1,000,000 mechanical operations typical of the contactor, and up to 1,000 electrical operations per hour at AC-3 maximum. Vibration resistance is 11.4 g at 5 ms and 7.3 g at 10 ms for both AC and DC excitation — figures that matter if this starter lives on a conveyor drive or a compressor skid. That consistent draw simplifies transformer sizing in the control panel.
