Star-delta assembly, not a bare contactor
The 3RA2426-8XF32-1AL2: This is a pre-assembled star-delta (wye-delta) starter from the Siemens SIRIUS family — not a single contactor but a complete assembly with three contactors and the interconnecting RS kit on a common mounting plate. It ships with two 3RT2027-1AL20 contactors and one 3RT2026-1AL20, plus the 3RA2923-2BB1 RS assembly kit, all wired for the star-delta transition. The S0 frame size keeps the footprint compact — 135 mm wide, 101 mm tall, 171 mm deep — fitting standard 35 mm DIN rail with screw or snap-on mounting.
Mechanical life is 10 million operations typical, with a maximum switching frequency of 1,000 cycles per hour at AC-3. That's enough for frequent-start applications like conveyors or compressors, but not for continuous high-speed indexing. Factor this into the enclosure thermal budget.
Mounting and panel integration
Mounts on 35 mm DIN rail via screw or snap-on fastening. Clearance distances for ventilation: 6 mm upwards, 6 mm forwards, 6 mm downwards, 6 mm at the sides, and 0 mm backwards (the DIN rail side). This means the assembly can sit flush against the back panel, but needs 6 mm air gap on all other sides for natural convection cooling. The shock resistance is 13.5g / 5 ms and 8.3g / 10 ms for AC, 15g / 5 ms and 10g / 10 ms for DC — adequate for most industrial panels but not for high-vibration mobile equipment.
Termination and wiring
All terminals — main current circuit, auxiliary/control circuit, and magnet coil — use screw-type terminals. No spring-cage option on this variant. Three instantaneous contacts are included — no auxiliary switch extension is fitted (product extension auxiliary switch: No). If you need additional auxiliary contacts, they must be added externally.
Lifecycle and sourcing posture
Sourced through authorized distribution channels against an RFQ. No stock-holding claim is made here; the supply chain is quoted per order. RoHS compliance date is 10/01/2009 — the assembly meets the EU RoHS directive from that date forward. No UL/CSA/CE marks are listed in the spec record, but as a Siemens SIRIUS product it typically carries CE for the European market; verify specific approvals for your jurisdiction at RFQ.
