Star-delta starter that ships as a wired assembly
The 3RA2436-8XF32-1NB3: It arrives with three contactors already on a mounting plate: two 3RT2036-1NB30 units and one 3RT2028-1NB30, plus the RS assembly kit 3RA2933-2C and a varistor surge suppressor wired in. Rated 45 kW at 400 V AC-3, with a maximum AC-3 switching frequency of 800 operations per hour. That means it handles a 45 kW delta-wound motor through the start transition without the interlocking headaches of a field-built circuit.
What the S2 frame and 223 mm depth mean for your panel
The assembly uses the S2 contactor frame size — 142 mm high, 177.5 mm wide, and 223 mm deep. The depth is the dimension that catches people out on shallow backpanels; make sure your enclosure has at least 230 mm clear behind the gland plate. Mounting position is flexible: the assembly can be rotated ±180° on a vertical surface and tilted forward or backward ±22.5°, which helps when the cable entry is off-centre. Clearance around the unit: 10 mm upwards, forwards, downwards, and to the side; zero backwards clearance needed. The screw-fixing fastening method means you'll need M4 or M5 hardware through the mounting plate — no DIN-rail clip here.
Wiring terminals and conductor sizing
All terminals are screw-type — no push-in convenience here, so budget for a torque screwdriver on the BOM. The magnet coil operates on 20 to 33 V DC with a closing power of 28 W.
Lifecycle and sourcing — current production, no successor drama
That means it's still a standard BOM line for new panel builds, not a legacy scavenger hunt. The fuse assignment for type 2 coordination calls for gG NH 3NA, DIAZED 5SB, or NEOZED 5SE fuses rated at 80 A. Keep that on the fuse schedule when you order the panel hardware.
