The 3RA2711-2BA00 is a reversing starter function module in the Siemens Sirius family, designed to plug directly onto a contactor to build a reversing motor starter assembly. It integrates IO-Link communication for parameterization and diagnostics, with a 24 V DC control supply and a built-in varistor surge suppressor. This module handles reversing duty only — it is not configured for direct-on-line or star-delta starting.

Mounting and wiring — panel fit

Auxiliary and control connections use spring-loaded terminals accepting 1x or 2x conductors from 0.25 to 1.5 mm², with or without ferrule. The front face is IP20 finger-safe per IEC 60529, with touch protection for vertical access. Overall dimensions are 45 mm wide, 39 mm high, 75 mm deep — it occupies minimal DIN rail space above the contactor.

Environmental and EMC ratings

Rated for installation altitudes up to 2000 m above sea level, with pollution degree 3 and insulation voltage 690 V AC. EMC immunity meets IEC 60947-1 for industrial environments (ambience A), with 8 kV electrostatic discharge and 10 V/m field immunity.
