What this Sirius basic module does
The 3RA2711-2BB00 is a Sirius basic module designed specifically for building reversing starters — it carries the reversing starter logic and surge suppression (varistor type) so you don't need a separate reversing contactor stack with its own wiring. It communicates via IO-Link, which means the PLC gets back diagnostic data — coil health, switching cycles, load current — through the same 24 V DC control wire, without adding a fieldbus node.
Termination and wiring — spring-loaded terminals
Auxiliary and control circuits terminate via spring-loaded terminals — no screw torque to check, no loosening under vibration. Accepts 1x or 2x conductors from 0.25 to 1.5 mm² with or without ferrule, and 2x AWG 24 to 16 for the auxiliary contacts. The front face carries IP20 finger-safe touch protection per IEC 60529 — safe for vertical access from the front, which matters when the panel door is open and someone reaches in.
Environmental and EMC — built for the panel
Rated for industrial EMC environment A per IEC 60947-1 — that means it's designed for the noise floor of a factory floor, not a quiet office. Electrostatic discharge immunity tested to 8 kV contact and radiated field immunity to 10 V/m. Vibration resistance is 10 to 55 Hz at 0.35 mm amplitude; shock tested at 11 g for 15 ms. Mount in any position.
