What the 3 A rating and OFF-delay mean for your control circuit
The 3RA2814-2AW10: For motor loads, size the overload relay element to the motor nameplate FLA, which will be below 3 A for this frame. The OFF-delay is adjustable from 0.05 to 100 s and is the only timing function on this unit — there is no ON-delay, no pulse-shaping, and no star-delta circuit. The recovery time between cycles is 150 ms, so the relay resets fast enough for sequential start/stop logic. Control voltage is AC/DC from 24 to 240 V (50/60 Hz), with a pickup threshold of 0.85 × rated voltage. At 24 V DC the control circuit draws 1 A; at 125 V DC it draws 0.2 A; at 250 V DC it draws 0.1 A — use these values to size the control transformer and fuse.
Panel fit and mounting — clip-on, any position
The unit clips onto a DIN rail (fastening method: clip-on) and measures 45 mm wide × 38 mm high × 74 mm deep. It can be mounted in any position, like a contactor, so orientation is not a constraint in a crowded enclosure. Clearance around the device: 0 mm upwards, forwards, backwards, downwards, and at the sides — no mandatory air gap for this unit, but standard panel ventilation rules still apply for the surrounding components. Basic insulation type — suitable for standard industrial environments without reinforced isolation requirements.
