OFF-delay timing for sequenced motor stops
The 3RA2832-2DG10 is a SIRIUS function module that provides an adjustable OFF-delay from 0.05 to 100 s, triggered by the contactor's auxiliary contact opening. This lets you sequence downstream equipment shutdown — a pump discharge valve closing before the motor stops, or a conveyor section coasting to clear product before the brake engages. It operates on AC or DC control voltage from 24 to 90 V at 50/60 Hz, so it works across common control transformer taps and 24 VDC PLC outputs without a separate power supply module.
DIN-rail footprint and panel fit
Clips onto the DIN rail alongside the SIRIUS contactor — 45 mm wide, 74 mm deep, 38 mm tall. The 0 mm clearance on all sides (up, down, forward, backward) means you can pack modules tight in the enclosure without worrying about heat dissipation or arc flash clearance. Operating temperature range -25 to +60 °C covers unventilated cabinets on the plant floor; storage range -40 to +85 °C handles warehouse extremes.
Wiring and termination details
The recovery time after a timing cycle is 50 ms — fast enough for repeated start-stop sequences on indexing conveyors. The module provides delayed switching with OFF-delay only (no ON-delay, no pulse-shaping). Minimum ON period is 35 ms, so the contactor must stay closed at least that long for the OFF-delay to arm properly.
