The Siemens SIRIUS 3RA6120-1BP32 is a compact starter in a direct-starter design, rated for continuous operation per IEC 60947-6-2. It integrates a motor-protective function with a contactor in a single 45 mm wide housing that snaps onto standard DIN rail. Rated at 370 W at 400 V, it handles small motor loads — pumps, fans, conveyors — in control panels where space is tight. The adjustable trip class (Class 10 or 20) lets you match the thermal overload curve to the motor start profile: Class 10 for quick-start loads, Class 20 for higher-inertia starts. That's a high fault-current rating for a 45 mm wide device — useful in installations with high available fault current.
Mounts vertically on standard DIN rail (screw and snap-on). Screw-type terminals accept 0.5 to 4 mm² solid or stranded, or two conductors up to 2.5 mm² each — enough for the motor branch circuit and control wiring. Dimensions: 170 mm high, 45 mm wide, 165 mm deep. Vibration resistance to 20 m/s² at 5.8–500 Hz and shock resistance of 60 m/s² (6 g) mean it holds up in machinery with moderate vibration.
Control voltage and power consumption
The coil accepts AC or DC control voltage from 110 to 240 V (50/60 Hz). Power consumption is low — 6 W AC maximum, 5.1 W DC maximum — so it places minimal load on the control transformer.
