Breaking capacity and coordination headroom
The 3RA6120-2DB32: Rated 53 kA at 400 V — this is the short-circuit breaking capacity the starter can safely interrupt under fault conditions per IEC 60947-6-2. For panel builders coordinating upstream protection, this SCCR figure allows the starter to sit downstream of a 50 kA-rated MCCB without additional current-limiting fuses in most industrial distributions.
Adjustable trip class — matching motor start profiles
Trip class is adjustable between Class 10 and Class 20. Class 10 clears the overload in under 10 seconds at 7.2× FLC — suited for short-start pumps and fans. Class 20 extends the window to 20 seconds, covering high-inertia loads like centrifuges or conveyors where the start transient exceeds 10 seconds. The adjustment is mechanical, no software or IO-Link required.
Mounting and panel integration
Width is 45 mm — three starters fit in a 135 mm DIN rail section. Mounting is screw-and-snap-on to standard 35 mm DIN rail; the recommended orientation is vertical, though any mounting position is permitted.
Environmental and mechanical endurance
Operating temperature range is -20 to +60 °C, storage and transport from -55 to +80 °C. Shock resistance is 60 m/s² (6g) for 10 ms across all axes; vibration resistance covers 4–5.8 Hz at 15 mm amplitude and 5.8–500 Hz at 20 m/s² for 10 cycles. These ratings qualify the starter for installation on machine frames or near drive cabinets where vibration is present — no additional damping required.
