Breaking capacity and motor protection
The 3RA6250-0EP30: The adjustable trip class (Class 10 and 20,) lets you match the thermal overload curve to the motor start profile: Class 10 for faster starts like pumps, Class 20 for high-inertia loads like conveyors or fans. Continuous duty rating per IEC 60947-6-2 at 32 A in AC-3 means it handles motor switching loads at that current without derating for continuous operation. At 480 V it's also rated 32 A; horsepower equivalents are 7.5 hp at 200/208 V, 10 hp at 220/230 V, and 20 hp at 460/480 V (-).
Panel fit and mounting constraints
Dimensions 170 x 90 x 165 mm — the 90 mm width is three standard 18 mm DIN module spaces, so plan the DIN rail allocation accordingly. The main circuit uses plug-in connections without terminals — the starter plugs into a base, so the wiring stays in the panel when swapping the unit. Control supply is AC/DC 110-240 V at 50/60 Hz. Power dissipation is 5.2 W AC max and 5.8 W DC max — account for this in the enclosure thermal budget.
Environmental and vibration qualification
Operates from -20 to +60 °C; storage and transport range is -55 to +80 °C. Shock resistance is 6g with 10 ms pulses, three shocks per axis. Vibration tested at 4-5.8 Hz with 15 mm displacement and 5.8-500 Hz at 20 m/s² for 10 cycles — suitable for panel mounting on machinery subject to moderate vibration. Pollution degree 3 confirms it's rated for conductive pollution environments typical in industrial panels.
