Reversing starter with adjustable trip class
The Siemens 3RA6250-2AP32 is a SIRIUS compact reversing starter — two contactors in one housing with mechanical interlock, so a single device handles forward/reverse motor control without external interlocks. Trip class is adjustable between CLASS 10 and CLASS 20, which means the same unit can be set for fast protection on a conveyor motor (CLASS 10) or given longer thermal budget for a high-inertia fan start (CLASS 20). Rated for continuous operation per IEC 60947-6-2, so it holds the unit on the grid for sustained duty cycles without derating — not a short-time intermittent device.
SCCR and wire termination that matter for panel build
If your panel SCCR target is 50 kA at 400 V, this starter lands inside the window without a current-limiting device ahead of it. Mounting is screw and snap-on to standard DIN rail; the 90 mm width and 191 mm height fit a standard 200 mm deep enclosure with room for the 165 mm depth plus wiring clearance.
Control voltage flexibility and environmental limits
Coil accepts AC or DC from 110 V to 240 V, 50/60 Hz — one part number covers 120 V and 240 V control systems, and the same coil works on a 125 VDC battery-backed control bus. Operating temperature range is -20 to +60 °C, storage and transport -55 to +80 °C — fine for unheated warehouses and outdoor cabinet installations provided the internal cabinet temperature stays below 60 °C. Vibration resistance tested to 20 m/s² at 5.8-500 Hz and shock rated at 60 m/s² (6g) — survives the mechanical environment of a reversing starter on a vibrating conveyor or compressor skid.
