Breaking capacity and motor protection — 53 kA at 400 V
The 3RA6500-2AB42: The adjustable trip class (Class 10 and 20) lets you match the overload release to the motor's starting profile: Class 10 for faster-starting loads like pumps and fans, Class 20 for high-inertia loads such as conveyors or crushers that need a longer acceleration window. Rated for continuous operation per IEC 60947-6-2, the starter handles sustained motor duty without derating — the 0.09 kW at 400 V AC-3 covers small reversing motor applications like valve actuators or shuttle conveyors.
IO-Link integration and reversing configuration
This is a reversing starter with IO-Link protocol onboard at COM2 speed (38.4 kBaud) — it communicates motor status, trip data, and diagnostics directly to the controller without separate feedback wiring. The 24 V DC coil keeps the control loop on a standard industrial supply. Five status LEDs give local indication of run, fault, and communication health — useful during commissioning and fault isolation without cracking the panel door.
Mounting and environmental ratings
Mounts on a standard DIN rail with screw and snap-on fastening — the 191 x 90 x 165 mm envelope fits a standard 90 mm wide slot. Operating temperature range is -20 to +60 °C, storage and transport range -55 to +80 °C. Vibration resistance is specified at 4–5.8 Hz with 15 mm displacement and 5.8–500 Hz at 20 m/s² for 10 cycles; shock resistance is 60 m/s² (6 g) for 10 ms per 3 shocks in all axes. Pollution degree 3 suits industrial environments with conductive dust or occasional moisture.
Sourced through independent distribution channels against an RFQ.
