SIRIUS compact reversing starter with IO-Link
The Siemens 3RA6500-2CB42 is a SIRIUS compact reversing starter designed for continuous operation per IEC 60947-6-2. The adjustable Trip Class (10 or 20) lets you match the overload release curve to the motor thermal time constant — Class 10 for faster-responding motors like submersible pumps, Class 20 for higher-inertia loads like conveyors with long start times.
IO-Link and control voltage
This reversing starter supports IO-Link protocol at COM2 (38.4 kBaud), providing parameter assignment, diagnostics, and status feedback over a single M12 connection. The 24 V DC control voltage is isolated from the main power circuit. Five integrated LEDs give status indication for power, communication, and fault conditions, reducing troubleshooting time during commissioning.
Environmental and mounting specs
Dimensions are 90 mm wide, 191 mm high, 165 mm deep — fits standard 35 mm DIN rail with screw-and-snap mounting. Any mounting position is allowed, though vertical orientation on the rail is recommended for optimal heat dissipation. Operates from -20 to +60 °C ambient, stores from -55 to +80 °C. Pollution degree 3 means it's rated for industrial environments with conductive dust or light moisture exposure. Vibration resistance to 20 m/s² at 5.8-500 Hz and shock resistance to 60 m/s² (6g) per 3 shocks in all axes ensures reliable operation on machinery with frequent starts and stops.
