PE pick-up for SIRIUS motor starters
The Siemens 3RA6870-3AC is a PE (protective earth) pick-up module from the SIRIUS product brand, designed for use with SIRIUS motor starters. The module snaps onto the motor starter assembly using plug-in fixing, occupying a 10 mm width on the DIN rail — a narrow footprint that preserves panel space for other components in the starter combination.
Environmental and mechanical ratings
The PE pick-up is rated for operation from -20 °C to +60 °C and storage from -55 °C to +80 °C, covering most industrial enclosure environments. It is certified to withstand semi-sinusoidal shock of 6 m/s² at 10 ms and vibration per f = 4 to 5.8 Hz at 15 mm amplitude, then 5.8 to 500 Hz at 2 m/s² for 10 cycles — suitable for installation on machinery subject to moderate mechanical stress. Degree of pollution 3 per IEC 60947-1 means the module tolerates conductive pollution in non-condensing conditions, typical for control panels in factory environments. Installation altitude is limited to 2 000 m above sea level without derating.
