The Siemens 3RA8422-4EE10 is a SIRIUS 3RA8 intelligent load feeder configured as a direct starter with a high-feature set, rated for 3.5-32 A at up to 690 V AC with type of coordination 2. It is purpose-built for the ET 200SP distributed I/O system, integrating the motor starter, overload protection, and communication into a single S0 frame-size unit.
The 3.5-32 A adjustable current range covers small to medium motor loads — think fractional-horsepower pumps up to about 15 kW at 400 V. Type of coordination 2 means the starter withstands fault currents up to its rated short-circuit capacity without damage to the contactor or overload relay, so you don't have to replace the whole unit after a downstream short. The 690 V AC rating handles 400 V and 480 V systems with margin, and the S0 frame keeps the footprint compact on the DIN rail inside the ET 200SP enclosure.
