The Siemens 3RA8512-1EE10 is a factory-assembled reversing starter from the SIRIUS 3RA8 intelligent load feeder family, rated for motor loads from 0.4 A up to 4 A at voltages up to 690 V AC with type of coordination 2. It ships as a complete, pre-wired unit in frame size S00, designed to snap directly into a Siemens ET 200SP distributed I/O system — no separate contactor, overload relay, or reversing interlock wiring needed at the panel. The assembly bundles a 3RC7141-1EE10 communication module, a 3RV2311-1EC20 motor starter protector, and two 3RT2017-2BB42 contactors, all coordinated for reversing duty out of the box.
Why the ratings matter for fit
The 0.4-4 A adjustable current range covers small reversing loads — conveyors, gate drives, small hoists — on 400 V or 690 V line supplies. Type of coordination 2 means the starter protector clears a fault without welding the contactors, so the same unit stays in service after a short-circuit event. Frame size S00 is the compact footprint for the ET 200SP slice; it occupies one mounting slot and communicates over the backplane bus. No separate control wiring for the reversing interlock — the 3RA8 handles that internally. The 690 V AC rating is the maximum operational voltage; for a standard 400 V motor branch, the unit has headroom on the insulation coordination.

What's in the box and how it mounts
The unit ships as a single piece (packaging quantity 1) in a box 320 x 240 x 160 mm. It is a standard stock item (product class A) and can be returned within the standard returns window if unopened. Mounting: snap the S00 frame onto the ET 200SP DIN rail, wire the motor branch to the output terminals, and connect the 24 V DC control supply to the bus. The 3RA8 communication module handles the reversing logic over PROFINET or PROFIBUS via the ET 200SP interface.
