The Siemens 3RB2015-1PB0 is a SIRIUS solid-state overload relay for three-phase motor protection. It mounts directly onto a contactor of size S00, forming a compact motor starter assembly without extra wiring between the relay and contactor. The 3-pole main circuit uses screw-type terminals, and the auxiliary circuit provides one NO and one NC contact for feedback to the PLC or safety circuit.
The trip current range is defined by the voltage-dependent values: at 24 V it handles 2 A, at 120 V it handles 4 A, and at 230 V it handles 3 A. These are the continuous current ratings for the main circuit at the respective line voltages — the relay's internal heater or sensing element must be sized to the motor's full-load amps. The maximum operating voltage for the main circuit in AC-3 duty is 690 V, so it can be used on 400 V and 690 V line supplies. The surge voltage resistance is rated at 6 kV, and it withstands electrostatic discharge per IEC 61000-4-2 at 6 kV contact / 8 kV air discharge — both figures tell you the relay can survive the electrical noise of an industrial panel without failing.
Mounting type is contactor mounting — it clips directly onto a SIRIUS contactor of size S00. No DIN rail required for the relay itself; the contactor sits on the DIN rail, and the relay snaps onto the contactor's front. Clearance requirements: 0 mm upwards, forwards, backwards, and downwards — meaning it can be stacked tight against other components in those directions. Side clearance is 6 mm, so leave that gap to adjacent devices for heat dissipation. Shock resistance is 15 g for 11 ms, which covers most industrial vibration environments.
The relay carries ATEX approval PTB 06 ATEX 3001 Ex II (2) GD, which qualifies it for use in potentially explosive atmospheres — gas and dust — as part of a motor starter assembly. It also meets the surge voltage and ESD immunity levels cited above.
